Malus Charlottae is a variety of Crabapple that bears masses of large and showy, scented, double, pink flowers through spring which result in small, green-yellow fruit. The foliage in spring emerges green, ages to a darker green, and then develops orange and red tones in autumn before falling as it grows to 7 m tall and 6 m wide. Malus Charlottae is commonly grown as a specimen, added to a mixed planting, or included anywhere the flowers and fruit can be appreciated.

Malus Charlottae Details

Malus Charlottae is a variety of Crabapple grown for its flowering and colourful fruits. Through spring it bears masses of large and showy, scented, double, pink flowers. These result in small, green-yellow fruit which attract all manner of wildlife. The foliage in spring emerges green, ages to a darker green, and then develops orange and red tones in autumn before falling. It typically grows to 7 m tall and 6 m wide and can be trimmed as necessary. This variety performs best when grown in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site that does not dry out. It is tolerant of frost and cool climates. Malus Charlottae is commonly grown as a specimen, added to a mixed planting, or included anywhere the flowers and fruit can be appreciated.
