Echtermeyer Crabapple, Echtermeyer Weeping Crabapple, Malus Echtermeyer Weeping
Malus Echtermeyer is a variety of Crabapple that bears masses of large and showy, single, rose-red flowers through spring which result in small, red-purple fruit in autumn. The foliage emerges with a red tint in spring, ages to a bronze-green colour, and then develops colourful yellow and orange tones in autumn before falling. The fruit and foliage are held on pendulous branches that will reach to the ground as it grows to 3 m tall and the same wide. Malus Echtermeyer is commonly grown as a specimen, added to a mixed planting, or included anywhere it can be appreciated.
