Kaitoke Crab Apple
Malus Kaitoke is a variety of Crabapple that bears masses of pink buds that open into single, dark pink flowers during spring. These result in small, purple fruit in autumn. The foliage in spring emerges red, ages to green, and then develops yellow tones in autumn before falling. The branches are held with a pendulous manner atop a sturdy trunk as it grows to 3 m tall and the same wide. Malus Kaitoke is commonly grown as an impressive specimen, added to a mixed planting, or included anywhere it can be appreciated.
