Metrosideros Octopussy is an interesting variety of Pohutukawa due to both its flowering and weeping growth habit. Clusters of showy, bright crimson flowers cover the tree in summer. These are complemented with green foliage which is held with a pendulous manner as it grows to 2 m tall and the same wide. Metrosideros Octopussy is an excellent choice for coastal and courtyard gardens, adding to a mixed planting, using as a backdrop for smaller plants, planting around outdoor living areas, or for maintaining in a container.

Metrosideros Octopussy Details

Metrosideros Octopussy is an interesting variety of Pohutukawa due to both its flowering and weeping growth habit. Clusters of showy, bright crimson flowers cover the tree in summer. These are complemented with green foliage which is held with a pendulous manner or weeping nature. This evergreen grows compactly to about 2 m tall and the same wide, though can be trimmed to smaller sizes. Best results with this variety are achieved when it is planted in full sun on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of poor soils, dry periods, frost, and coastal conditions but will benefit from being protected while it is establishing.
