“Bubbles” is an outstanding, evergreen tree grown for both its foliage and flowers. It grows as a small, shapely tree carrying glossy, green leaves which are attractive in their own right. Velvet buds are borne through winter and spring and open to reveal exquisite, cream coloured flowers. The flowers have a subtle pink blush and a light fragrance. It typically grows to 4 m tall and 3 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun or semi-shade on a well-drained, sheltered position. It is tolerant of moderate frost and short periods of dry though will benefit from being protected while establishing. “Bubbles” is commonly grown as a specimen, included in a mixed planting, clipped into a hedge, or used as a backdrop for other plantings. This tree is easy to grow and very rewarding.
