Michelia doltsopa Silver Cloud is an evergreen tree that carries glossy, dark green leaves which are attractive in their own right. Velvet buds open through late winter and spring to reveal exquisite, fragrant, white flowers. It grows as a small, shapely tree to about 5 m tall and 3 m wide. Michelia doltsopa Silver Cloud is commonly grown as a specimen, included in a mixed planting, clipped into a hedge, used in an avenue planting, added to a “white” garden, or used as a backdrop for smaller plants.

The Michelia doltsopa Silver Cloud hedge spacing is generally 50 cm between the plants. If you want the hedge to fill in faster, you can shorten the spacing to 40 cm. However, going wider than 50 cm will have two effects. The first is that the gap between the plants at the base will be harder to fill in and this can cause frustration.
