Magnolia Fairy Cream is simply another name for Michelia Fairy Cream. It is an outstanding, evergreen tree grown for both its foliage and flowers. It grows as a small and shapely tree carrying glossy, green leaves which are attractive in their own right. Velvet buds are borne through winter and spring and open to reveal exquisite, cream-coloured flowers with a light fragrance. It typically grows to 3 m tall and 1.5 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun or semi-shade on a well-drained, sheltered position. It is tolerant of moderate frost and short periods of dry though will benefit from being protected while establishing. Magnolia Fairy Cream is commonly grown as a specimen, included in a mixed planting, clipped into a hedge, or used as a backdrop for other plantings.
