“Inspiration” is a handsome shrub grown for both its foliage and exquisite flowers. It carries large and glossy, green leaves which are very aesthetic in their own right. Velvet buds are borne through late winter and spring and open to reveal masses of fragrant, white flowers. This evergreen typically grows to 3 m tall and 2.5 m wide and can be trimmed as necessary. It performs best when positioned in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered site, and is tolerant of cool climates, moderate frost, and short periods of dry. “Inspiration” is commonly grown as a specimen, included in a mixed planting, clipped into a hedge, added to a “white” garden, or planted as a backdrop for smaller plants.
