Michelia Paton Pink is an outstanding, evergreen tree grown for both its foliage and flowers. It grows as a small and shapely tree carrying glossy, dark green leaves which are attractive in their own right. Velvet buds are borne through winter and spring and open to reveal exquisite, pink flowers with a darker edge and a light fragrance. It typically grows to 4 m tall and 3 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun or semi-shade on a well-drained, sheltered position. It is tolerant of moderate frost and short periods of dry though will benefit from being protected while establishing. Michelia Paton Pink is commonly grown as a specimen, included in a mixed planting, clipped into a hedge, or used as a backdrop for other plantings. This tree is easy to grow and very rewarding.
