Michelia Star Bright is a handsome, evergreen tree grown for both its foliage and beautiful flowers. It is a small and shapely tree that carries glossy, dark green leaves which are very aesthetic in their own right. The foliage is adorned with masses of velvet buds during winter which open in pure white flowers with a mild fragrance in spring. Sporadic flowering occurs through the rest of the year. This evergreen typically grows to 4 m tall and 2 m wide, and can be trimmed as necessary. It performs best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of cool climates, moderate frost, and short periods of dry though will benefit from being protected while it establishes.
