Michelia Touch of Pink is a handsome tree grown for both its foliage and lovely flowers. It grows as a small and shapely tree, carrying glossy, dark green leaves which are very aesthetic in their own right. Velvet buds open through late winter and spring to reveal showy, heavily scented, cream-white flowers with a touch of pink. This evergreen typically grows to 3 m tall and 2 m wide and can be trimmed as necessary. It performs best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of cool climates, moderate frost, and short periods of dry though will benefit from being protected while it is establishing. Michelia Touch of Pink is commonly grown as a specimen, included in a mixed planting, clipped into a hedge, used in an avenue planting, or planted as a backdrop for smaller plants.
