Pittosporum Platinum Details

Pittosporum eugenioides Platinum is a NZ native tree grown for its colourful and dense foliage. It features narrow, light green leaves edged with cream-silver. They release a pleasant lemon-scent when crushed and are adorned with small, white flowers in summer. The flowers are followed by brown berries, both of which are great for attracting birds. This evergreen typically grows to 8 m tall and 5 m wide and can be trimmed as necessary. It performs best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site, and is tolerant of most soil types, except extreme wet or dry, wind, coastal conditions, periods of dry, and moderate frost. Pittosporum Platinum is ideal for shelter, screening, and hedging. It makes for a lovely backdrop for smaller plants and is often included in native or revegetation plantings.
