Pittosporum Blackbridge Details

Pittosporum tenuifolium Blackbridge is a NZ native tree which is grown both its foliage and pretty flowers. Upright stems host small and glossy, green leaves which are held densely. This evergreen typically grows to 4 m tall and 2.5 m wide and can be trimmed as necessary which encourages new growth. It grows best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site, and is tolerant of most soil conditions, barring the extremes of wet and dry. It is also tolerant of wind, coastal conditions, periods of dry, and frost once established. Pittosporum Blackbridge is commonly included in coastal and native gardens, trimmed into a hedge, used as a backdrop for smaller plants, or planted for shelter or screening.
