Red-pink flowers with a light scented adorn the tree during spring. Pittosporum turneri makes a spectacular backdrop for smaller, leafier plants. It also looks great when planted in an avenue or against a plain wall and it can be trimmed as necessary.

Pittosporum turneri Details

Pittosporum turneri is a rare, NZ native tree that grows to about 8 m tall and 1.5 m wide. It has a columnar growth habit with branches tending to be more prominent than the leaves on this plant (known as divaricating). Red-pink flowers with a light scented adorn the tree during spring. This tree will grow well in full sun or semi-shade positions on a variety of soils including those low in fertility. Pittosporum turneri makes a spectacular backdrop for smaller, leafier plants. It also looks great when planted in an avenue or against a plain wall and it can be trimmed as necessary.
