New foliage in spring is a distinctive bronze colour, which ages to mid-green, then develops colourful yellow and orange tones in autumn before falling. This deciduous tree grows with a vase shape to about 5 m tall and 4 m wide. Prunus Ichiyo is a stunning tree when in flower and is commonly used in avenue plantings, grown as a specimen, added to a mixed planting, or included in Japanese and cottage gardens.
