It is also now being increasingly used for training along wires as either an espaliered or pleached tree.

The foliage is held off slender branches which are quite malleable. Small, yellow-green flowers in spring produce brown acorns in autumn. This majestic beauty typically grows to 18 m tall and 8 m wide with a rounded crown.
