Quercus petraea (Q petraea), commonly known as the Sessile Oak, is a deciduous tree that features lush foliage and great form. The foliage emerges light green in spring, ages to dark green, then lightens only slightly in autumn before turning brown and falling. Small, yellow-green flowers in spring produce brown acorns in autumn. The Sessile Oak typically grows to 25 m tall and 15 m wide with a conical growth habit and tends to broaden out with age. Quercus petraea is commonly grown as a specimen in large gardens and parks with the added advantage of fantastic summer shade.

Quercus petraea (Q petraea), commonly known as the Sessile Oak, is a deciduous tree that features lush foliage and great form. The foliage emerges light green in spring, ages to dark green, then lightens only slightly in autumn before turning brown and falling.
