Seven Finger, Seven Finger Plant, Schefflera digitata, Pate Seven Finger, Seven Finger Tree
Schefflera digitata, commonly known as the Seven Finger Plant or Pate Seven Finger, is a small, NZ native tree grown for its showy and glossy foliage. This spreading tree features leaves that are made up of seven leaflets, hence the common name. New foliage emerges light green with pink-red veins and ages to become dark green. It typically grows to 6 m tall and 4 m wide and can easily be contained with trimming. The Seven Finger Tree is commonly used in tropical gardens, planted alongside water features such as streams, included in a mixed planting, or planted around outdoor living areas if space permits.
