Syzygium luehmannii is commonly known as Riberry, Small Leaved Lilly Pilly, or Cherry Alder. It carries dense, dark green leaves with new foliage having a distinct pink colouring. Masses of white blossoms through summer which are great for attracting birds and result in dark pink-red berries in autumn. It grows to 10 m tall and 5 m wide and is easily contained with trimming. Syzygium luehmannii is commonly trimmed into a hedge, grown as a specimen, added to a mixed planting, or used for screening and shelter.

Lilly Pilly Syzygium luehmannii

The Lilly Pilly Syzygium luehmannii is a medium-sized rainforest tree featuring colourful and glossy foliage. It grows with an erect habit carrying dense, dark green leaves with new foliage having a distinct pink colouring. It produces masses of white blossoms through summer which are great for attracting birds and result in dark pink-red berries in autumn which have a clove-like taste. This is a fast-growing tree that can reach 30 m tall in rainforests but often stays at 10 m tall and 5 m wide and is easily contained with trimming. It performs best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site, though it will tolerate short periods of dry and light frost once established. The Lilly Pilly Syzygium luehmannii is commonly trimmed into a hedge, grown as a specimen, added to a mixed planting, or used for screening and shelter.
