Ulmus carpinifolia Variegata, commonly known as Field Elm or Variegated Elm tree, is a stately, deciduous tree grown for its colourful foliage. The leaves emerge in spring heavily variegated with cream and green, then develop yellow tones in autumn before falling. It grows with an upright and somewhat narrow habit to about 20 m tall and 8 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site with some shelter. Ulmus carpinifolia Variegata is commonly grown as a specimen in parks or a large garden, or used in avenue planting.
