The leaves emerge a fresh, lime-green colour in spring, then age to golden yellow, and remain this way until falling in autumn. It grows with an upright and pyramidal habit then matures into a broader crown, typically reaching 15 m tall and 10 m wide. Ulmus glabra Lutescens is commonly grown as a specimen or included in mixed planting. It looks very impressive when planted either side of an entrance and in avenue plantings.
